A long weekend of coastal walking in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, our hostel overlooks the beaches of St. Bride's Bay.
Free parking is available at the hostel.

Friday, 24th May 2019   WHITSUN WEEKEND IN WHITBY    3 nights    Grade 2
A weekend based at Whitby YHA (24th-27th May). Walks Saturday, Sunday and Monday. 20 beds currently booked. Cost approximately £120 for the 3 nights. Further details to follow.

Friday, 23rd August 2019   AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND IN BUTTERMERE    6 nights    Grade 2
The August Bank Holiday weekend away will be held at Buttermere YHA. Overlooking the lake and surrounded by some of the highest mountains in England, YHA Buttermere is a fabulous base for fantastic walks direct from the door, including Haystacks, made famous by Alfred Wainwright.

Accommodation. We have initially reserved a number of 2 ,4 and 6 bedded rooms. These will be allocated on a first come first served basis. There is a spacious lounge with comfortable furniture and spectacular views, a large dining room with tables, chairs and a bar, and a self-catering kitchen. The self-catering kitchen makes the best use of the space available with appliances and storage and preparation space. There is plenty of crockery, glassware, cutlery, pots and pans.

Cost for 3 nights accommodation will be 104 pounds per person, a 20 pound deposit will be required on confirmation of attendance. Full balance will be required by 10th June.

Breakfasts, either bring your own or they are available to purchase at the hostel. Lunch, you will need to provide your own. Evening Meals, we propose to do a group meal in the hostel on Friday (bolognaise or similar), Saturday and Sunday evening meals are to be confirmed.

Walks. Friday afternoon, there will be a 6 mile walk, starting at 1pm from the hostel Saturday and Sunday, for both days there will be 2 walks to choose from, both approx 10 miles, one Grade 2 and one at Grade 3.

Towels and toiletries are not provided but are available to hire or purchase from reception. Bedding is supplied. Parking space for 18 cars on site. Additional free parking on road near base of Newlands Pass, 200 metres away. Free wi-fi is available in social spaces. Check in 17.00 - 22.00 Check out Before 10.00

Notes on Weekend Bookings:
Please help the organiser by booking, and paying, for weekends as early as possible.

If a late booking is absolutely necessary, then it may be possible to do this directly with the Youth Hostel. This requires individual membership of the YHA (currently about £14). Such bookings must be made on an individual basis. No attempt should be made to refer, or "tag on", to the group booking, since this creates confusion for both the hostel warden and the organiser.
