Friday, 28th August 2020   AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY IN GRASMERE    3 nights    Grade 3
This year we will be spending the August bank holiday at YHA Grasmere in the Lake District - just a few miles from both Ambleside and Windermere.

We have a provisional booking for 18 people in 4 private rooms.
A number of camping pitches are also currently available. Anyone looking to book one of these should book with the hostel separately.

Cost: Approximately £115 for 3 nights based on full occupancy of rooms.
A deposit of £30 is required by 26th January to secure a place, with the balance for full payment needed by 28th June.

Food: There are a number of places to eat in Grasmere, which we can look to book nearer the time, with Ambleside only a few miles away too.
The hostel also has kitchen facilities for anyone looking to cook for themselves.
Breakfast and lunch can be provided by the hostel at extra cost, or make use of the kitchen if you'd prefer to take your own.

Walks: To be confirmed.
There are options to enjoy relatively flat circular walks around nearby waters, and also to climb a choice of nearby mountains.
We'll aim to walk on each of the 4 days.

Weather: 4 days of unbroken sunshine!

Places will initially be allocated on a first come first served basis.
If you'd like to reserve a place please arrange for the £30 deposit to be paid by 26th January at the latest as we could lose the booking otherwise.
I can pass on bank details on request if you don't already have them.

Thanks and hope to see you there!

Notes on Weekend Bookings:
Please help the organiser by booking, and paying, for weekends as early as possible.

If a late booking is absolutely necessary, then it may be possible to do this directly with the Youth Hostel. This requires individual membership of the YHA (currently about £14). Such bookings must be made on an individual basis. No attempt should be made to refer, or "tag on", to the group booking, since this creates confusion for both the hostel warden and the organiser.
